The other day I mentioned my new lace stash - and here it is. I was at my mum's house the other day, nicking her embroidery silks that she no longer uses, and I saw a lovely scarf/shawl that she bought at a car boot sale and has hung over the headboard of her bed. It's got a gorgeous trim on it and I told her that if ever she sees anything like that at a boot sale she's got to buy it for me. 'Oh,' said Mum, 'Do you want lace? I've got lace.' And she wasn't wrong...This lot is kept in a huge shoe box and there is far too much for me. I said I was going to give some of it away, so this is how I'll do it:
If you go to Marit's Blog you will see her post about blog candy. The idea is that the first person/people to comment on this post will receive something in the mail from me - something 'bought' and something made. I have said 'bought' because obviously I haven't paid for this lace, but if you got it on Ebay you would have to shell out some cash, and it's fabby stuff so I'm hoping that's okay!
The something made, in my case, will also be quite light-weight because I'll be sending it all overseas, I expect!
In return, you will send me something 'bought' and something made. Again, I'm saying 'bought' in that way because you may not have enough moolah to go out and buy me something, and I'd be more than happy to accept something from your stash.
Now, because I have a generous amount of lace to give away, I'm going to do this for the first three people who comment. This assumes, of course, that three of you turn up on here! (If not, I'll come back and edit my post, hehe).
These are the rules:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I send you…. (but I'll like it, so hopefully you will too!)
- You’ll receive something made by me AND bought products (in my case what amounts to a RAK)….it will definitely be craft orientated.
- It’ll be mailed within a month of you leaving a comment.
(when you’re in another country, it may take longer ’till you receive it.)
- The catch? Oh, the catch is you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first however many people you decide.
- You must post a picture of what you recieve each time.
Does that make sense? We all know how nice it is to receive something in the post, and I've been feeling a bit scrooge-like recently because I'm not joining in, so there you go!
